Quality Rating

Quality Rating Improvement System

In 2011 Washington County NB & PW Club, Inc. Head Start//Georgia Pre-K Program volunteered to participate in Georgia’s pilot program, voluntary Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). The pilot program is designed to give early care and education providers representing a diverse group of settings, the opportunity to work through the proposed QRIS process in an abbreviated amount of time. Our QRIS process was completed at the end of September, 2011.

QRIS is a systemic approach to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early and school-age care and education programs. Similar to rating systems for other service related industries, QRIS award quality ratings (1, 2, 3) levels to early and school-age care and education programs that meet a set of defined program standards.

Washington County NB & PW Club, Inc. Head Start//Georgia Pre-K Program achieved and continues to hold a level 3”, the highest rating a center can receive, at all of our centers (Davisboro, Glascock, Johnson, Sandersville, and Wilkes Centers).

In order to go through this process all centers must be licensed by Bright From the Start.
